Between 2016–2024, more than 3,200 new tech jobs are projected to become available in Miami-Dade County, with an additional 2,409 jobs opening due to attrition. TechHire is provided by CareerSource South Florida and our partner agencies. TechHire is designed with access to accelerated learning options that provide the fastest paths to good jobs—like bootcamps and online options that give people the skills they need in months not years.

CareerSource South Florida in partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools will provide TechHire Summer Bootcamps to youth between the ages of 15-22. The TechHire Bootcamps are designed to give our future workforce new pathways to middle and high skill jobs with good wages. The initiative connects Americans to both traditional and nontraditional educational resources. This includes a mix of accelerated learning programs like coding bootcamps, on the job training, and other innovative channels for learning.

CareerSource South Florida will assist youth with the opportunity to enhance their skills in the information technology industry. The TechHire Boot Camps are up to six weeks and upon completion, youth will receive an industry recognized credential. The TechHire Boot Camp will offer its participants one of the following courses: Cisco Network, IT Network, Cybersecurity, Gaming, and Programming/Coding. Upon completing the program, students will receive a $300.00 stipend, and upon obtaining a credential, students will receive an additional $200.00 stipend. You may qualify to participate if you are:

  • Miami-Dade County resident
  • Miami-Dade County Public School attendee
  • Between the age of 15 – 22 years
  • Receives free and/or reduced lunch or
  • Family receives Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

A lottery selection process is used to identify youth to participate in TechHire Bootcamp.
